FAQs
What are your earrings made from?
Raw Brass: I use high quality raw brass, which naturally patinas over time, adding to the natural overall look. However, I do include a brass polishing cloth with your order, which, rubbed softy on the brass, will bring the shine back.
Miyuki Glass Seed Beads: I exclusively use Japanese Miyuki glass seed beads as they are of the highest quality. Their consistency in size, shape and colour allow for a more symmetrical design.
Are your earring hooks hypoallergenic/nickel-free?
The hooks in the photos are the hooks you will receive. I mainly use 925 sterling silver or surgical steel hooks, however I occasionally use brass claw clips. If you notice these on the earrings you would like to purchase, please pop a note on the order or email me and I will change them for your desired material.
Are your earrings suitable for sensitive ears?
Yes, the surgical steel and 925 sterling silver hooks are perfect for sensitive ears.
Can I wear these earrings in the water?
No. Even though the materials are top quality, it is preferable that you do not wear them in water. The colour of the brass and beads may be effected by water.
How do I care for my earrings?
If your earrings have a beaded fringe, please hang them. If not, they can lay flat. Keep them away from water.
Will the colour fade or tarnish?
Yes, it's possible that your beads will fade over time, however this will vary depending on how you care for them. Personally, I have many pairs that I made nearly 8 years ago that are still perfect!
Your brass will tarnish, as is the nature of metal. Made of copper and zinc, it will slowly oxidise, creating a darker patina over time. A polishing cloth is added to your purchase to restore the shine.
